Tickets on sale for 6th annual Brew Movement Against Multiple Sclerosis at Pink Palace

The 6th Annual Brew Movement Against Multiple Sclerosis, a beer tasting event that raises funds for the Mid South Chapter of the National MS Society, is coming up Friday, Feb. 27, at the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis.

The event will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. and will feature homebrew and craft beer, food, a silent auction and live music, all for a great cause.

Homebrew will be served from the Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs and Memphis Brewers Association homebrew clubs, as well as Midsouth Malts, Bernoulli’s Beer Werks, What Would Jesus Brew and The Memphis Filling Station. There will also be craft beer on tap from Memphis’ High Cotton Brewing Co., Memphis Made Brewing, Wiseacre Brewing Company, Boscos and Ghost River Brewing, as well as beers from Yazoo, AS Barboro, Blue Pants, Schlafly and others.

Food offerings will be from Swanky’s Taco Shop, Cheffie’s Cafe, Bayou Bar and Grill, Central BBQ and Tamp & Tap. The band The Tinglers will be playing in the ballroom and there will also be live piano and bass in the piano room of the mansion.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Tickets cans be purchased online here. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

To date, this annual event has raised close to $50,000, which has directly benefited the local MS Society in continuing to improve the lives of individuals in the Mid-South who suffer from multiple sclerosis. MS is a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system and affects 400,000 Americans.  Join the Brew Movement in “Fighting MS One Beer at a Time!”

Science of Beer returns to Pink Palace Museum on Jan. 16

Science of BeerThe Pink Palace Museum is bringing back its popular Science of Beer event on Friday, Jan. 16.

The event, which runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m at 3050 Central Ave., is part beer tasting, part science lesson.

You’ll get to taste beer from professional brewers and local homebrewers, snack on chili courtesy of Tamp & Tap, and drink from glasses provided by Memphis Filling Station.

But you’ll also get to explore the science behind making beer, take a closer look at hops, malt and yeast, and engage your senses more fully to better enjoy your beer.

There will also be fun activities like decorating your own beer koozie and making a pretzel necklace.

Tickets are $30 for museum members, $35 non-members and $15 for designated drivers. All tickets must be purchased in advance. Buy tickets at the museum box office or call the museum’s reservations department at 901-636-2362.
