Nashville’s Yazoo Brewing gives sneak peek at new Gerst bottle labels

March 15, 2012 By: mike Category: Breweries, Craft beer, Government

Yazoo Brewing Company has brought back a Nashville favorite, Gerst Amber Ale. The beer, created by William Gerst in 1893, was once one of the most popular brands in the South.

The beer has been recreated by Yazoo. (Wanna see the recipe? It’s here.)

Gerst has been available at Yazoo’s taproom for awhile and will soon be bottled at the Nashville craft brewery. The retro-style labels, in fact, have now been approved, Yazoo announced Wednesday.

Good news! After several iterations, everyone involved is happy with the label and six-pack art design, and the ATF signed off on the label approval. We’ve got the labels and six-packs being printed in the next week! It generally takes 3-4 weeks to get all that done, and then you should start to see bottles of Gerst in stores! [source]

Here is the front label. What do you think?
