Mississippi’s Lucky Town, Southern Prohibition team up for ‘Kiss My Land Mass’ benefit ale

Kiss My Land Mass benefitMississippi craft beer upstarts Lucky Town Brewing Company and Southern Prohibition Brewing have collaborated to brew “Kiss My Land Mass,” a benefit ale that will help raise money for the American Red Cross to assist with the Hurricane Isaac relief efforts.

The dark ale was brewed with treated rain water collected from Isaac, as well as honey, cinnamon and locally grown scotch peppers.

Kiss My Land Mass will be tapped at a party at the Keg & Barrel in Hattiesburg on October 5 at 7 p.m. For more information, check out the Facebook event page.

Watch ‘Mississippi Brews’ – a documentary about the craft beer movement in the Magnolia State

When you have 18 minutes to spare, be sure to watch “Mississippi Brews,” a great short documentary about the efforts of Raise Your Pints in the Magnolia State.

It features interviews with Raise Your Pints’ Butch Bailey, Ghost River Brewing’s Chuck Skypeck, Lazy Magnolia’s Leslie Henderson and Keg and Barrel’s John Neal.

It was produced by the University of Mississippi Media and Documentary Projects, a division of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture and affiliated with the Meek School of Journalism and New Media.
