MemFIX Cleveland Street event on Saturday to feature High Cotton Brewing beer tasting

November 09, 2012 By: mike Category: Breweries, Craft beer, Events, Memphis

High Cotton Brewing Co.High Cotton Brewing Co. will run a limited beer tasting tomorrow (Saturday) at the MemFIX Cleveland Street event in Midtown Memphis.

The tasting, from 2 to 4 p.m., will feature three beers: John Barleycorn (Must Die) Scottish, Ginner’s Pride ESB and Sawmill, a stout, according to High Cotton’s Facebook page.

The owners of High Cotton hope to open a microbrewery at 598 Monroe, across from Kudzu’s Bar & Grill, by year’s end.

Here’s more about MemFIX:

MemFIX Cleveland Street is a short-term community driven effort to inject vitality into the Crosstown area by activating the street and showing what is possible in the neighborhood. Working with local businesses, residents, and community stakeholders the project will re-think the street, activate vacant shopfronts, and change the character of the two block area along Cleveland from Overton Park to Galloway for one weekend.

Come experience a transformed Cleveland Street this Saturday at Memfix. In addition to a two-block makeover with bike lanes, over 50 pop-up shops, galleries, artist vendors and food trucks, there will be so much to see and do. Drive, walk, or better yet, ride your bike to the Complimentary Bike Valet, just south of our friends at the Cleveland Street Flea Market. The market will be open for business with special vendors outdoors for the day. [source]

Also, be sure to stop by the “pop-up shop” for Metal & Mud Designs, which will feature ceramic art and jewelery. It will be in one of the empty storefronts on Cleveland, between Overton Park Road and Autumn. I’ll be there helping out, so come say hello.
