Atlanta’s Red Brick Brewing Company to begin distribution in Memphis

August 31, 2011 By: mike Category: Breweries, Craft beer, Memphis

Red Brick beersRed Brick Brewing Company, Georgia’s oldest craft brewery, has plans to distribute its beers in Memphis.

Red Brick is “finalizing” its distributor agreements and will soon be in the Bluff City, according to Red Brick area sales manager Jason Topping.

Memphis is as far west as the company plans on expanding for the time being.  We like to stay true to our southern roots and keep our beer distribution to a manageable distance,” Topping told FuzzyBrew, via e-mail. “As long as the product is fresh, we can find time to routinely be in the area to check on it and help promote … then that is where we want to be … so hello Memphis.”

Red Brick, a.k.a. the Atlanta Brewing Company, has four “core” brands – Blonde, Brown, Pale Ale and Porter – as well as seasonal and specialty offerings.

The expansion by Red Brick is a bit of good news for craft beer drinkers in Memphis, who have seen the departure of Dogfish Head and Avery Brewing Co. this year as those breweries sought to meet increased demand closer to home.

As an added bonus, we might even get a visit from the “beerbulance” some day. (see video below)

  1. This is exciting! I brought back a four-pack of the Double IPA from Nashville last month. It was excellent. What a great addition to the market. Will this include their high gravity beers as well?

    • Josh,

No details available yet on what beers are coming and where they’ll be sold.

I’ll let you know when I hear more…
