Memphis homebrew on tap at Tennessee Cigar & Brew Fest
Memphis homebrew and craft beer from across the United States will be on tap next weekend at the Tennessee Cigar & Brew Fest in Jackson.
The event, which is in its second year, will be held Saturday at Jackson Fairgrounds Park and will include cigars and more than 90 craft and homebrewed beers.
“The craft brew revolution is taking off in parts of the country and Jackson was kind of lagging behind, so I thought it would be nice to introduce some of the micro and mini-craft beers to folks in West Tennessee,” Dave Hacker, homebrewer and co-organizer of the festival, told the Jackson Sun.
The festival will feature “Beer Clone Wars,” where homebrewed clones of rare commercial beers not readily available in West Tennessee will be served.
“We went last year and it was awesome, and they invited us back,” J.L. Thompson, president of the Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs, told FuzzyBrew.
Thompson will be bringing two kegs of his beer — an Irish red and an English mild — and will join Hacker and a contingent of Memphis area homebrewers serving at the festival.
Tickets for the festival are $20 and available at cigarandbrewfest.com or at the door. Proceeds benefit the Jackson-Madison County Humane Society.
