Ghost River to release its first porter — the ‘Noble Prized Porter’ — for Memphis Beer Week
Ghost River Brewing is brewing its first porter to help celebrate Memphis Beer Week in April.
The Memphis craft brewery will release the “Noble Prized Porter” to celebrate the inaugural Memphis Beer Week (April 21 – 27) and to honor Memphis in May’s Salute to Sweden.
The limited-edition beer was brewed Monday with the “noble” hop Hallertau, as well as lingonberries and vanilla extract.
Only one batch of the beer will be made, with some beer to be sold from Ghost River’s dock and some headed to local bars and restaurants.
Here’s the announcement that was posted on Ghost River’s Facebook page:
We are brewing something extra special at Ghost River today! To celebrate Memphis Beer Week (April 21 – 27, 2013) and to honor Memphis in May’s Salute to Sweden, we are brewing “Noble Prized Porter”. Yes, we meant to spell “Noble” that way. We are using the “noble” hop, Hallertau and avoiding any copyright infringements issues at the same time! We are also adding lingonberries and vanilla extract to the beer to create layers and layers of flavor! Look for the beer around mid-April.

Oo! Definitely looking forward to this!
1Picked up a growler of this new Porter today and it is really amazing. It is so smooth and has a unique flavor that makes it a very distinct beer. Would order this every night at my favorite bar if it was available.
2Thanks for the comment! Can’t wait to try it.
3Do we buy the tickets for sour hour at the saucer?
4Yes, i’m seeing on twitter that it’s $25
