This weekend: Reggae at the Beer Garden and a Stumblin’ Elvis pub crawl in Downtown Memphis
Back in April we wrote that Raffe’s Beer Garden at 84 S. Reese was reopening under new ownership and getting a makeover.
Well, Raffe’s is now Lucchesi’s Beer Garden, and the reinvigorated beer spot will play host to its first night of live music this weekend.
The “Chinese Connection Dub Embassy” and special guest are playing Saturday at the Beer Garden for a special reggae night, and best of all, it’s free. Music starts at 9.
And if you’re wondering, the front half of the building is still Raffe’s, a deli/convenience store that boasts an impressive beer selection. Raffe’s daughter Basma Lucchesi and her husband Tony are the new owners of the adjoining Beer Garden. (Follow the Beer Garden on Twitter: @The_BeerGarden.)

In Downtown Memphis, the annual Stumblin’ Elvis Pub Crawl benefiting the Mid-South Food Bank is also Saturday.
Show up at the Downtown Flying Saucer at 7 p.m., dressed in your best Elvis or Priscilla attire. Bring a non-perishable food item or cash.
Crawlers will stumble to Blue Fin, Blind Bear, Silky’s, Purple Haze and back to the Saucer. More info is available on the event’s Facebook page.
By the way, the Saucer has five new beers on tap from San Diego’s Green Flash Brewing: Imperial IPA, Palate Wrecker, Le Freak, Trippel Ale and Retro Extra Pale Ale. Those beer alone are worth a trip to the Saucer.
