Winners announced for Golden Triangle Brewers’ 2012 ‘War of the Wort’ homebrew competition
The results are in for the inaugural “War of the Wort” homebrew competition, Mississippi’s first full-category sanctioned AHA/BJCP homebrew competition.
The event, which drew 115 entries and 47 registered participants, judges and stewards, was organized by the Golden Triangle Brewers homebrew club in Starkville.

Congrats to Nate Nowak, of the Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs, who took 1st place in the “Sours, Belgian Strongs and Strong Ales” category for his Old Ale and 3rd place in the “German Wheat, Rye, Belgian and French Ales” category for his Dark Saison.
In addition, Memphis homebrewer Clark Ortkiese won 2nd place in the “English Browns, Porters and Stouts” category for his Mycastle.
And kudos to the Golden Triangle Brewers for putting on the inaugural “War of the Wort!”
