Recap of ‘Adult Field Day’ at Sweet Grass Next Door with Yazoo Brewing Company
On Sunday, Sweet Grass Next Door laid down some sod on its back parking lot and helped a bunch of adults relive their childhood.
“Adult Field Day” featured all your favorite grade school games, from a potato sack race to a three-legged race to an egg toss … but with beer.
And not just any beer. Yazoo Brewing Company’s Ivan Chester brought all the beer left over from the Memphis Brewfest to the Cooper-Young event, including Hop Project, Gerst and Hefeweizen. It was basically a Brewfest after-party, with burgers and hotdogs on the grill, live music and lots of fun and games.
There was even a FuzzyBrew team that took 1st place in the potato sack race! But our winning ways ended there.
Grab a spoon and an egg, and it’s off to the races!
Ryan Trimm, co-owner and chef of Sweet Grass and event organizer, has a lead on the Whole Foods guy.
Justin (in blue shirt) teams up with Ivan during a game of beer pong. Justin has some skills.
What’s a beer-themed field day without cornhole?
This guy just won the egg toss.
Yazoo has its own washer game, which is reportedly pretty tough to master.
The teams take a break between games.
Looks like some serious discussions are afoot with the referee!
Ahhh, beer…
