Beer, wine face off in ‘Grain v. Grape’ dinner in Memphis

February 17, 2011 By: mike Category: Events, Memphis

Grape v. Grain dinnerBeer and wine go head-to-head in a special dinner Feb. 24 at the Brushmark Restaurant in the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.

The “Grain v. Grape” dinner, hosted by Steve Barzizza of Southwestern Distributing, will feature four courses, each paired with a beer and a wine. You get to decide whether the beer or wine is the better pairing.

Chefs Wally Joe and Andrew Adams will be preparing the food, with beer pairings by Southwestern’s Michael Barzizza and wine pairings by Jason Doble from Trinchero Family Estates.

The beers to be served — ’cause that’s really all we’re interested in at FuzzyBrew — are North Coast Scrimshaw Pilsner, Barbar Honey Ale, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Gulden Draak and Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

To see the full menu for the dinner, as well as the wine selections, check out the events page on memphisbeersandwines.com.

Cost is $60 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Call 544-6225 to RSVP.
